SO.. TODAY ..something very cool found it’s way to the HALO HQ ‘In-Box’..
Resident PR Guru, affectionately known to us as ‘The Mitch-Monster’, and mainly because he’s the only one of us with big enough nads to shamelessly hunt down opportunities to promote cool events, joyfully informed me that the Love & Light Festival dates and details for 2012, were in our grubby little paws 
.
To boot ..next year’s event will once again be headlined by arguably, one of the planet’s most in-demand Psy-Tech artists on today’s EDM Circuit, NEELIX!
In April 2011, Love & Light Festival plowed it’s way onto the Cape Town PsyTrance scene, by hosting international artists, NEELIX, Perfect Stranger, Vaishiyas and Flowjob, along with a host of South Africa’s top talent, out at Nekkies near Worcester. The Mitch-Monster made an early trip through on the Saturday, and proceeded, it seems, to try finish all the Cuervo in the entire venue before I got there, as at that stage, I still had HALO Live @ UCT Radio obligations to attend to. Nonetheless, I jumped in ‘Tthe Boermashien’ straight after the radio show, and made my way through to the resort, to find Rory (not ‘The Mitch Monster’) passed out in his tent :S
THANKFULLY ..he was not alone, so I threw my gear in the tent (which was surely designed only for Rory’s & midgets), poured myself a REALLY BIG drink, and headed down to the main arena. What greeted me, was a MONSTROUS AV wall, and an array of JBL Concert goodness ..HOOG bass and soaring tops ..so much so, that I actually rued not having my ear-plugs with me (which is VERY rare for me, for an outdoor).
It naturally took me a while to get through the ‘Hello’s’ and ‘how’ve you been’s', so before I knew it, the sun, she was a risin’ ,and thankfully by this time, ‘The Mitch-Monster’ had returned, rejuvenated, refreshed (kinda) and wondering where exactly I had come from 
.
Shortly after that, NEELIX hit center-stage, and I can honestly say, even considering I’m openly NOT the world’s biggest Psy fan, he had that entire floor, including me, in the palm of his hand. I think what I found most refreshing about his performance, was the subtle melodies in a great deal of his track selections, in my opinion, lending to PsyTrance what I’ve always felt it lacked ..that emotional aspect, a little piece of brilliance that rears it’s head above all the other goodness around it.
The crowd that morning was amazing, smiling faces everywhere, infectious happiness, LOVE & LIGHT .
OK ..let’s get back to 2012 shall we..
For next year’s event, NEELIX will headline a 12 hour daytime electronic music showcase, at a beautiful venue, roughly 60kms from Cape Town. The date’s been set for Saturday 14 January 2012, with a tasty support line-up consisting of a Symphonix LIVE & DJ Set, as well as performances from Connecto, Lox, Gandalf, Ivan Turanjanin, Anthea Scholz and The Fog Show.
